Monday's practice crisp

The Bruins practiced in shorts on Monday, but that will all change when Tuesday rolls around when the guys will be back in pads ready to rock and roll. Freshman wide receiver Taylor Embree continues to impress in both the 7 on 7 and the 11 on 11 drills. He runs solid routes, has the knack of getting open and better yet, he catches the ball. It is apparent the quarterbacks have confidence in the freshman.

Marcus Everett also had a pretty good practice and is getting his confidence back after his injury. He had good chemistry with Patrick Cowan as they connected on couple nicely thrown outs.

Cowan took most of the snaps with the first team, but Ben Olson did get some snaps with the ones.

Coach Rick Neuheisel made the announcement official that BruinBlitz.com broke yesterday that Aleksey Lanis is seeking medical retirement. That is a huge blow to a young and inexperienced unit, but Sean Sheller is ready to step up.
