Hawkeyes offer Nebraska prep

With plenty of size, speed, and athleticism, Nebraska athlete Tyrone Sellers has drawn major college recruiting interest over the past few months, including a handful of early scholarship offers. Today, the versatile 6-foot-3, 215-pound Sellers added a Big Ten offer to his list when the Iowa Hawkeyes came calling.

As a junior, Sellers racked up 85 tackles, 18 TFL, and 8 sacks on his way to earning first team all-state honors at defensive end for the McCook Bison. Currently in track season, where his best 100-meter time is 11.30, coaches have told the junior they could see him playing linebacker, defensive end, or tight end at the college level.

The offer from the Hawkeyes is the fourth overall for Sellers to go along with earlier ones from Kansas State, Kansas, and Wyoming. The junior, who also blocked three punts this past season, will be at Nebraska on Saturday to watch the Huskers' spring game and meet with the new coaching staff, who is still evaluating him. Currently, his plan is to take it slow in the recruiting process and get out and make some visits over the summer.
