Detroit DT visits Iowa City

Detroit defensive tackle Aaron McCord was among the visitors at Iowa's spring scrimmage on Saturday. The 6-foot-3, 275-pound McCord spent most of the weekend in Iowa City, which gave him a chance to tour the facilities, meet with the coaches, and spend some time with the Hawkeyes as they wrapped up spring practice.

Recruiting McCord for the Hawkeyes is new assistant coach Erik Campbell. The two have known one another since Campbell was recruiting the junior at his previous school, Michigan, and had a chance to catch up on the visit this weekend.

Along with Iowa, McCord is also hearing from Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Bowling Green, and Ball State, among others. While he is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, the junior remains high on several teams' lists, including Iowa's.
