Dunbar solid to TCU
When the commitments went down in March, people everywhere were shocked to see three division one talents from a tiny 1A high school in Texas commit to state powerhouse in TCU. The shock wasn't that they would commit to the Frogs but the fact there were three players of that caliber on one team in that classification was mind blowing. Now fast forward 2 months ahead to today's date and more offers continue to pile up for the group. PurpleMenace.Com attempted to catch all three players for quotes tonight but was only able to get in touch with Dunbar. Dunbar (6-6, 276) has lost a little weight with his current workout routine and is getting prepared for the upcoming season.
"I've been working out and getting mentally prepared. I'm down to 276 now and I'm just working hard" said Dunbar. "We can't go into the season big headed just because we have 9 or 10 players coming back on offense and defense, we still have to work hard and earn it."
With offers from the likes of TCU, Arkansas, Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Baylor and Houston, it was clear that other schools would still come knocking.
"Texas A&M and OU offered me but I'm still solid to TCU. I've been staying in touch with coach Anderson and I'm happy with my decision."
That's a big relief to Horned Frog fans because Dunbar is one of TCU's prize recruits in the 2009 class and the fact that he will be bringing two ultra-talented teammates with him to Ft. Worth makes it that much sweeter. With the hard work that Dunbar is putting in heading into his last year of high school football, a state championship could be right around the corner. Asked if Dunbar would like to say anything to the TCU fan's, he had this to say.
"Get em' Frogs(laughing)..how about Let's Go Frogs."(still laughing)
The big time player from the small town in Texas is ready to go. TCU fans won't have too long to wait before they get to see him on the field at Amon G. Carter Stadium. With Burns and House in tow, look out Ft. Worth, their going to make a splash.
