Walker to hold off on decision
Demetrius Walker's basketball-playing career has been the subject of much hype and even controversy. He received his first college recruiting letter at the age of 11, and Sports Illustrated featured him when he was just 14, touting him as the next LeBron James - a prediction some basketball analysts took exception with because of Walker's age.
The 6-4, 200-pound Walker appeared headed for another milestone last weekend, when his commitment to Indiana seemed imminent. Walker was in Bloomington with his AAU team, the SoCal All-Stars, for the adidas May Classic. To the surprise of many, he named IU his top school and looked to be on the verge of becoming the fourth member of Tom Crean's inaugural class. All that stood in his way was a meeting with Crean, which might have served as a finalization for his verbal to the Hoosiers.
