East Texas defender making the camp rounds

Palestine (TX) Westwood linebacker prospect Seth Gilkey does not come from a program that traditionally puts out Division I prospects. Therefore, he knows that he has to hit the camp circuit this summer to get noticed by college recruiters.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound defender recently took in three-day camps at both Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He came away with a favorable impression of each one. After a brief rest, the East Texas standout is off to his next one.

"I just got back from Texas A&M's camp," said Gilkey on Sunday evening. "Before that, I went to OU and then I'm going to Kansas this Saturday. I think their camp starts either Sunday or Monday."
