UGA gives Lott motivating news
The practice fields in Athens had a large number of underclassmen on them at the Mark Richt Camp, but one of the top prospects in the class of 2009 in attendance was Derrick Lott. Lott looked impressive, he performed at a high level, and he got Georgia's attention. After the camp the Dawgs gave Lott some news that will motivate him to work hard off the field.
"I talked to Coach Richt after the camp and he told me that Georgia would offer me a full scholarship if I got my grades right," said Lott.
"I think I have a verbal offer now really, but nothing will be official unless I get my grades in order. Coach Richt just told me that they really like me, and that they want to offer me, but I have to get my grades up first."
That was good news was something Lott was not really ready for, but he now has another reason to take care of business off the football field.
"It was kind of surprising when they told me about offering me. I knew they were interested in me, but I did not know they were interested this much. I think I just showed them at camp what I can do."
