Burrell enjoys ASU

Arizona State was the second stop on Jamaal Burrell's summer camp tour after visiting the University of Arizona a week earlier. The Compton (Calif.) Dominquez two-way player has a top five consisting entirely of Pac-10 schools.

"A-State measured up good," Burrell said. "I really liked the campus, it was nice. "The coaches seemed pretty good, I like them. They're very down to earth.

"I think I had a pretty good camp too, I won like seven out of ten in one-on-ones. It's tougher without pads on though. With pads it'd be way easier."

Burrell, 6-foot-4, 275 pounds, plays offensive and defensive line for Dominquez, and he's being recruited to play both in college. He prefers to play offense in college.

"I play tackle mostly but I can go in and guard you," Burrell said. "It doesn't really matter to me, I just want to get on the field."

Following up on the ASU and UA camps, Burrell plays to visit Cal, USC and UCLA this summer. Arizona became the first school to offer earlier this month and remains his lone offer at this juncture.

"Recruiting is going good," Burrell said. "I'm just see who shows me love and who I like. I'd like to play in the Pac-10."

Burrell said his current top five consists of Arizona, ASU, Cal, UCLA and USC. He is being recruited to ASU by Eric Yarber.

"I'm looking for good education place and a good football team," he said. "I'm getting to look at these schools when I go to their camps and that will help me know where I want to go. I just want to see what I like and then decide but I don't know when that'll be."
