Towering DE Clarke gets WVU offer

MORGANTOWN--Of all the impressive talent to show at West Virginia University's Junior Select Football Camp on Sunday, perhaps the most physically imposing individual was 6-foot-6, 240-pound Will Clarke, a defensive end from Pittsburgh's Taylor Allderdice High School. With his flat-out quickness and steep learning curve, the rising senior drew a scholarship offer from the Mountaineer coaching staff.

Already the recipient of offers from Pittsburgh and Akron, Clarke and his father, William Sr., made the short trip down to Morgantown to meet head coach Bill Stewart and company for the first time. Almost immediately upon arrival, the towering youngster turned the heads of fellow campers. Soon thereafter, Clarke was wowing onlookers with his sprinter's speed, polished footwork and coachable persona. According to William Sr., the complete package displayed by his son is the result of a combination of his year-round participation in athletics and a careful upbringing.
