Auburn makes big impression on Conner

Auburn has 19 commitments in the middle of July, the fastest start for the Tigers under Tommy Tuberville. But of all the commitment the Tigers have reeled in, only one is a defensive back, Fort Valley (Ga.) Peach County four-star Reggie Taylor.

The Tigers would like to add at least two more corners or safeties to the class, and one of the top targets, Batesville (Miss.) South Panola's David Conner, was on the Plains last week.

Conner, 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, took an unofficial visit to Auburn. It was his first time at Auburn, but certainly won't be his last. Conner said he was very impressed.

"It was fantastic," said Conner. "I really liked it down there. That was my first time and it was way better than I thought it was going to be. I kept hearing that the town wasn't too big, but when I got there it was just the right size for me. I love it down there."

Conner is being recruited to Auburn by coach Hugh Nall. The two have gotten to know each other throughout the process and was able to build on that during his visit.
