Difton talks early leaders

Minnesota was able to sign a talented group of wide receivers in 2008 and they are targeting some of the best in 2009 as well. One of the top wide receiver prospects the Gophers have on their radar is Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas' Dwayne Difton. The four-star prospect is back from a couple of summer camps and is ready to talk about his top five schools.

Difton was busy this summer at a couple SEC camps.

"I was just at the Florida camp last week and that was a great experience. I got a chance to work with the Gator coaching staff and learn what it would be like to play in their offensive system. I think I did very well, I caught all the balls, ran good routes and had good talks with their coaches. They told me to remain patient and they would keep me posted on when an offer would come."

"I also had a great time a while back at Auburn's camp, I dominated that camp. I really enjoyed my time at their camp and have stayed in contact with their staff. I don't have an offer yet but would love to get one from Auburn."

Difton talked about the five schools that sit on top of his list.

Auburn: "I love it that the entire city gets behind the team and everyone goes to the game. It would be a great place to go to school and play football."

Boston College: "They are my No. 1 school right now. I love that they throw the ball a lot and they also offer the best balance between academics and football tradition."

Florida: "Wow, it would be a dream come true if they were to offer me a scholarship. I would love to play in their offensive system. It is a great school and a great football program."

Minnesota: "I love Coach George McDonald and we have a great relationship. They intrigue me because they throw the ball a lot and I believe I could earn early opportunities if I came in and worked hard."

South Florida: "I know that I have already decommitted from USF but I want them to know that I have not forgotten about them. They are currently tied with Minnesota for the No. 2 spot."

Difton is also excited to report that he is a full qualifier.

"I just got my results back from my SAT test and I did really well. I got a 1280 and I am all ready for pretty much any school."
