Yeager makes his choice

12 verbal commitments into the 2009 recruiting class, the Chippewas have found their quarterback. Today, Emmanuel Yeager announced that his intentions to play for CMU.

CMU had been recruiting several quarterbacks in the past few months. With more and more verbals rolling in, landing a quarterback before the start of high school football became increasingly important.

Yeager should be a very good fit for CMU's offense. At 6-foot-2 and approximately 190 pounds, Yeager possesses good but not great size. Yeager's athleticism and 4.65 40 are some of his best attributes.

Yeager also possesses the kind of dual-threat attack that current CMU signal-caller Dan LeFevour has. Yeager's stats as a junior certainly reflect the damage he can do with his feet and his arm. In 2007, Yeager ran for over 400 yards and 3 scores and passed for over 1700 yards with 16 touchdowns.

After attending 5-Star Chippewa Day, Yeager realized that CMU was his best option. In the race for Yeager's services, CMU beat out Akron, Ohio, Richmond, and Eastern Michigan.
