Moore Planing Trip to Montlake

Prosser High School's Kirby Moore is one of the top prospects in the Evergreen State, and according to his stats he's one of the most productive receivers in the country. As a junior, playing along side another of the nations best, in current Husky Cody Bruns, Moore hauled in 74 passes for 1,305 yards and a state record setting 29 touchdowns. Currently Moore has four offers from Washington, Stanford, Washington State and Boise State. Washington was the last school to offer Moore, but they are still very high on his list.

Unfortunately Moore is unable to attend Saturdays University of Washington Senior day, but he plans on making up for it with a trip Montlake very soon.

"I'm in Chicago right now visiting family," explained Moore. "The timing was bad but my mom bought the tickets and planned the trip a while ago. But I'm going to make it to a practice or scrimmage during the fall camp sometime. I have been talking with Cody Bruns and he has been checking the schedule and helping me figure out a day to visit.

Right now Moore is very open about his college choice and claims that the two instate schools have been after him the hardest.

"Washington State has been recruiting me the hardest right now. They send me hand written mail nearly every day from a couple of different people." Moore continued to say, "U-Dub has still been recruiting me hard. Coach Hart has called a couple of times, also called my father, and I talked with him just the other day."

So what is Moore looking for from the college he chooses?

"I want to have support from my family in any decision I make. Also, I really just want the chance to play. I don't need to be guaranteed anything, I just want to know that I will have an honest opportunity to compete for playing time."

If current 2009 University of Washington commit, St. John Bosco quarterback Keith Price has his way, Moore will be competed in purple and gold. Price and Moore met during the UW Skills Camp and an instant bond was made between passer and catcher.

Keith Price called me and has been talking to me about attending U-Dub. We are planning on seeing a game together. I will either be going to the BYU or Oklahoma game and he's gong to fly out and meet me. They paired us up together at the U-Dub Skills camp. During one-on-ones we worked together and just bonded. All of his balls were on the money and we seem to connect well on the field. We also worked out a bit indoors and it was just a fun time working with him."

So when should we be expecting a decision from Moore?

"I was hoping to make a decision before the season but I don't think that will happen now," said Moore. "I'm going to attend practices at WSU, UW and Boise State. Then I want to check out games at all three places before I make my decision."

Moore will be the featured weapon in a potent Mustang attack in 2008. With Bruns gone, look for Moore to put up gaudy numbers as a senior and raise his stock even more.
