Four-star safety trying out some corner

The bullseye Is always on the back of the Bulls from Miami (Fla.) Northwestern. Even after an early season loss to Long Beach Poly of California, Northwestern has stormed back to improve to 3-1 on the season. One of the numerous talented prospects on the Northwestern roster is safety Tevin McCaskill.

Despite his status as one of the fastest safety prospects around, the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder may soon see himself lining up at cornerback for the Bulls.

"The season's been going god," McCaskill said. "I've been playing good, Making plays when it counted and making big plays. I've been lining up at free safety but this week I'm lining up at corner…I've been telling coach I want to move over to corner so I can get more balls thrown at me and more chances to get interceptions."

Though McCaskill is not very focused on recruitment these days, he is still getting a lot of interest from some major programs, one in particular.

"Clemson, Coach Blackwell from Clemson, he calls me about every other week," he said. "Them UM and Florida are my favorites. I really would like to hear from Georgia and Virginia Tech."

Since the beginning of his recruitment, McCaskill has been looking to garner some interest from Virginia Tech. Though only weekly letters are coming to this poing, McCaskill is hopeful that an offer will eventually follow.

"They're so good up there," he said of the Hokies. "Their DBs, they work together so well and all of their DBs are good."

On Thursday, McCaskill leads his team against Miami (Fla.) Southridge in hopes of improving to 4-1. It will continue to be tough to get through the season unbeaten within the state, but McCaskill is confident.

"There' s no one that hang with us if we play the way we should play," he said. "The only team that can beat us is ourselves."
McCaskill currently has no plans for official visits and will likely wait until after the season to take the college tour.
