Pahokee CB schedules first official visit

One of the fastest rising prospects in the state of Florida is Pahokee High School cornerback Jarvis Byrd. The 5 foot 10, 175-pound Byrd has seen two new teams contact him recently.

"Maryland I have been hearing from them a lot," said Byrd. "Iowa State has offered me and I am supposed to go on an official visit next weekend when they play Texas A&M."

When did Maryland come into the picture?

"They came in two weeks ago. They are going to watch more film of me and then they may offer me. The head coach has to watch my film."

Are you still in contact with FAU?

"I still talk to Coach Williams, and I should be going on a visit in January down there."

What other schools are you talking a lot to?

"Colorado State and Michigan."

What did Michigan have to say?

"They want to see me raise my test scores and see some more film on me. Coach Smith came down two weeks ago because Brandin (Hawthorne) and Vincent (Smith) have already committed to them. When they were talking to them I got a call to talk to Coach Smith. I talked to him for a good long time."

Byrd is a lock down corner that also excels in special teams. He just always seems to be around the ball whether it be an interception or a blocked kick.
