Rosa gets the call he'd been hoping for
It had been a waiting game this fall for Mana Rosa, the 6' 3", 250 pound defensive end from Wailuku (HI) Baldwin. While he had a couple of college scholarship offers on the table, he didn't have one from Oregon State.
All of that changed yesterday as he got the call he'd been hoping for.
"Mike Cavanaugh called and offered yesterday," said Rosa. "I've been waiting for a while for that offer."
Rosa accepted the offer almost immediately and was thrilled to do so.
"I was real excited," said Rosa. "It made my day!"
With offers on the table from Utah, UNLV and Hawaii, what was it that set Oregon State apart from those other schools?
"I like the school and the coaches," said Rosa of Oregon State. "I also like the cooler weather."
Cavanaugh and Mark Banker recruited Rosa to Oregon State, and he has enjoyed getting to know them both.
"They are cool guys," he said. "I like them a lot. They are really funny and down to earth."
