Bell looks ready to ring
Senior running back Kahlil Bell has shown glimpses of himself this week at practice. It appears the bye week has done wonders for his aching body. BruinBlitz.com talked to Bell after yesterday's practice to catch up with him and get his feelings on his senior season and the future of this team.
BruinBlitz.com: Kahlil you told me yesterday that you are feeling about as good as you have all year. Would you care to expand on that?
Bell: "Yesterday was the first time I have done anything in nine days so I think the rest really gave me a boost in every aspect of my game, cutting, accelerating, top end speed so I felt really good yesterday and hopefully it can carry over on Saturday. I'm trying to be smart and push it hard enough to be game ready, but not push myself, so that I set myself back any, because it doesn't count on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, it only counts on Saturday. So that's what I'm trying to do right now."
BruinBlitz.com: How frustrating has this season been for you?
Bell: "Individually things aren't always as bad as it looks, but it has been tough. Being my senior year, I put in a lot of work to try and come back be on the top of my game and then I have been hurt all season, which has not been the best. I remember a long time ago, a lot of people told me that it is not how you start, but how you finish and I have four games left to try and finish my career at UCLA a winner and that's what I'm going to try and do. I'm going to try and be winner."
