Skinner leads Tigers into playoffs

The Noxubee County Tiger defense only allowed 20 points to be scored by their opponents during the regular season.

Mississippi State commit Deontae Skinner is big part of the reason why.

The 6-2, 230-pounder has 95 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, nine QB hurries, three pass deflections and a safety so far this season.

For his efforts, Skinner selected this week to participate in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Classic on Dec. 13 in Mobile, Ala.

"The season has really been going well for me," Skinner said. "I made the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game so the season has been going pretty well. I'm very happy about it."

Skinner committed to the Bulldogs in July and still remains solid.

"For me it was a place that I could stay close to home," Skinner said. "I felt like that was where I belonged. I think I will fit into their scheme real well."

Skinner was sold on State after meeting with head coach Sylvester Croom.
