Rogers enjoys first trip to Kinnick
Iowa commit Brad Rogers is back home in Ohio this afternoon after making his official visit with the Hawkeyes this weekend. For the 5-foot-10, 230-pound running back, his first trip to a game at Kinnick Stadium was a good one as the Hawkeyes upset nationally ranked Penn State 24-23 on Saturday after making a last second field goal.
Rogers' host on the official visit was freshman running back Jeff Brinson. During his stay in Iowa City, the Ohio native had a chance to talk with several of the current players, including Shonn Greene, and join them in the locker room celebration after the game.
The future Hawkeye, who made the trip with his father, was also familiar with another Ohio visitor in town in Tyler Harrell from Dublin Scioto High School. Rogers and Harrell met on the field earlier this year with Toledo Central Catholic beating Scioto by a score of 21-14.
Rogers, whose team finished with a 10-1 record this season, plans to start shortly on an off-season strength and conditioning program with high school teammate Mike Marrow, who is headed to Alabama. Overall, the official visit to Iowa City this weekend reconfirmed his commitment to Iowa.
