Macarthy visits Iowa City

Quarterback Dolapo Macarthy is in the middle of the state playoffs in Indiana, but took a quick break this weekend to visit Iowa City. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Macarthy, whose Merrillville team beat Chesterton in sectionals on Friday night, was in Kinnick Stadium on Saturday to watch the Hawkeyes beat nationally ranked Penn State.

Macarthy, who was impressed with the game day atmosphere, received a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes early in the recruiting process, but is currently working on improving his test scores in order to qualify academically.

Macarthy also holds a scholarship offer from Central Michigan and interest from Purdue and Kansas State, among others. He currently plans to retake the ACT and SAT next month.

Macarthy's 9-3 Merrillville team hosts 9-3 Penn this week in regionals for the Class 5A state playoffs in Indiana.
