Winters talks offer and visits

Hudson (OH) Hudson offensive tackle Brian Winters has been a quiet prospect during the recruitment process. Cuseconfidential did however catch up with Winters to see how everything is going and his thoughts on his first scholarship offer.

"Syracuse is showing me interest, they actual offered me," Winters said. "They offered me more towards the beginning of summer."

Winters, 6-foot-4, 285 pounds was extremely happy when the Orange offer came to his house this summer. The two star prospect shared his feelings about that day.

"I was ecstatic I was real happy because it was the first one that came through. I was real happy," Winters stated. "I think it is a great program. I like the campus and the facilities. I just think it is a great program."

Mitch Browning is recruiting Winters and the Orange offensive coordinator went into detail abut what Syracuse liked when it came to his game.

"He likes my footwork and technique and how I play and how I am always moving forward."

A visit has not been taken to Syracuse yet, but plans for a trip are in the works.

"I have not visited Syracuse yet. I believe we are thinking about coming up this coming week or next week."

Right now at Syracuse there is talk of Greg Robinson not returning next season. If Robinson does leave will that have a big impact on Winters thoughts towards the New York program?

"I do not think so. I am going to go to play football and I really do not know the coaching staff right now. I do not think it would change anything."

Other than Syracuse Winters recently received his second offer and it came from a school in the MAC.

"Kent State has offered me not to long ago."

The Ohio product went on to talk about what he likes when it comes to there second school to offer him a scholarship.

"It is a good school and it is a real good program also and it is close by. I like the campus it is real nice."

Besides the two schools that offered Winters is being looked at by other schools in the MAC and Big East. Even though Winters has a couple offers a few schools are sticking out more than others.

"These are not in order Indiana, West Virginia, Ohio State, Syracuse, and thats about it."

There is only about four months left in the recruiting process for the 2009 class and Winters is not ready to start thinking about a final decision just yet.

"No I have not thought about a decision. I am just going to keep my options open until the end and see what comes my way."
