Defensive points and grades

Untitled Document

It is a dark day in Beaver Nation as the program and fans sit back and take
a collective deep breath and now only contemplate what could have been. It was
a great season by all accounts, but as Coach Riley said post-game, the "bubble
burst" on the Beaver's magical run for the Roses.

Perhaps most disappointing was that the Ducks were able to tally nearly 700
yards of offense and scored more points than any Beaver opponent EVER. And while
the offense kept battling back, the defense could not contain the Duck's explosive
offense, giving up big play after big play. So, for only the second time in
BeaverBlitz history (the first being the 2006 Boise State game), we are not
awarding a Giant Killer Stone Award for the week, but do list the defensive
points and grades.

Tough night for the Beavers, but perhaps it was toughest on the defensive players
and coaches. Look for redemption at the bowl game, wherever they happen to land.
