Barrera excited about Aggieland
Clear Lake lineman Stephen Barrera joined many of his fellow Texas A&M commits in College Station this last weekend on their official visits. Though he made almost every home game at Kyle Field this season, it was his first real opportunity to get to know the rest of the recruiting class on a personal level.
It was also a chance for Barrera to see more of what Aggieland has to offer than he has previously seen. Though he has a sister in school at A&M and has been on campus numerous times, he says he was surprised at some of the aspects of the visit.
"It was real nice; I liked it," said the 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive tackle prospect. "It basically just showed me what to expect. It showed me a lot more that I didn't really know about. It just really opened my eyes, I guess.
"It's going to be hard, but I liked it a lot. It's exactly what I wanted. They were just real professional with what they're trying to do. Academics-wise, with all of the support they have, that was impressive. It was just really nice."
Barrera spent a lot of time with his fellow commits as well as many of the current players.
