Banks on board with Mullen
Jonathan Banks had an opportunity to meet with new Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen on Tuesday at East Webster High School.
The three-star safety left the meeting even more excited about becoming a Bulldog especially when Mullen mentioned a possible move to wide receiver.
"I consider myself a pretty athletic guy," Banks said. "I feel like I can pretty much do anything out there on the field. I would like to play wide receiver. I think I am better at playing receiver than anywhere else. I was All-State as a freshman but I had to move to quarterback after that because my team didn't have anyone else to play quarterback."
The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder was also a standout punt returner for the Wolverines returning two punts back for touchdowns.
Banks said he was at school when he first found out that Mullen had been hired at the helm at MSU.
"One of my friends texted me and told me that we got that man from Florida," Banks said. "I had heard so many different rumors that I wasn't sure whether to believe him or not. I went home and my grandma and I were watching the news and we saw it on Sportscenter. I even saw a bunch of those 'Dan the Man' shirts around."
So what does Banks think about the new hire?
