Houston-area lineman drawing early interest
Sugar Land (TX) Kempner has had only a handful of college prospects over the past few years. However, the Cougar class of 2010 could be a special one for coach James Brown. Coming off the school's first postseason appearance in quite a while, he has three big junior prospects returning in running back Josh Bell, wide receiver Kenneth Bibbons and offensive lineman Carter Lees.
Lees stands at 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds but is versatile enough to play the guard position in Kempner's triple option offense. It is something that colleges have taken notice of.
"Yes sir, I've been hearing from a lot of schools," said Lees. "Northwestern is looking a lot at me. I talked to (Texas) A&M. Boise State, Kansas State, Stanford, Missouri and Virginia all send me stuff at least once a week."
Though it is still early, Lees says that one school has made a very favorable impression.
