Dade North/South all star game preview
On Monday night December 22nd at Curtis Park Miami Dade County will host their annual North vs. South all star game. This will allow some prospects more opportunity to show case their skills. After checking in on a few of their practices the last 2 weeks here are some of the names to watch.
For the North Squad:
Cory Henry - The 6 foot 3, 235-pound defensive end from Carol City High School has shown a great motor with good speed. Henry has just started to see his recruitment start to take off with schools such as Kansas State and FAU showing the most interest.
Phillip Thomas - The hard hitting 6 foot, 180-pound safety was a late addition to the roster, but he has not disappointed. Thomas is scheduled to visit Central Michigan and Western Michigan in January. Florida State, Marshall, Memphis and FAU have all also been in contact recently.
Randell Johnson - Johnson is one of the most impressive looking players in the game. At 6 foot 3, 220-pounds with good speed and a long wing span The North Miami High School product has made a lot of plays from his outside linebacker position. Right now Johnson is scheduled to visit FAU on January 9th and Hofstra on January 16th.
Nexon Dorvilus - Dorvilus has impressed during practices with his ability to run and catch. On one particular play the 6 foot 4, 225-pound tight end from North Miami High School made a spectacular one handed snag. Dorvilus has heard from FAU, FIU, Hofstra and Kansas State.
Junior Delpe - The 6 foot 3, 210-pound quarterback from North Miami High School has shown a strong arm in practices. Delpe is supposed to officially visit Colorado State in January. He is also hearing from FAU, FIU and Kansas State.
Quananthony Fletcher - The 6 foot 1, 250-pound linebacker from Krop high school will get another chance to show that he won't have to be converted to defensive line in college.
Markeith Russell - The 6 foot, 195-pound linebacker has shown excellent speed and is not afraid to mix it up. The North Miami Beach High School product recently visited Western Michigan.
Maurice Anderson - Anderson has been a bid surprise in how he has played so far. At 6 foot 1, 225-pound he doesn't have ideal size to play defensive end, but he has not been blocked so far in practice.
Jonathan Cyprien - The FIU commit has been solid in his performance at safety. He worked out some at cornerback, but will be a safety in college.
For the South squad:
Marcus Lamons - The 6 foot 1, 200-pound linebacker from Sunset high school has been a terror on defense. Lamons can run and will hit you.
Fabrice Pratt - The 6 foot 1, 170-pound safety is committed to Kent State, but plans on taking visits. The Sunset product has shown good range from the safety position.
David Ribero - The 5 foot 11, 190-pound linebacker from Archbishop Carroll just makes plays. The best way to describe Ribero is he is a football player. He currently has no offers, but he is getting some lower level interest.
