Freshman re-defines TE role at WVU

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Michael Villagrana played tight end for West Virginia from 2004-07. His last two seasons, he was a starter. In his career, Villagrana caught 1 pass for 2 yards. It happened to be a touchdown against Virginia Tech on Oct. 1, 2005.

The date is a Gold & Blue one for all WVU tight ends everywhere, because, until this season, it was the last time a TE had scored for the Mountaineers. (Villagrana is currently an academic GA in the program.)

This year, true freshman tight end Tyler Urban not only caught 2 (!) passes for West Virginia, both of them were touchdowns. They went for 25 and 12 yards. The ball went downfield.
