Is Peprah still planning other visits?

With two decommitments in last year's recruiting class (Wes Kemp and Brandon Marti), Wisconsin fans were understandably a bit alarmed when it was reported two-safety and current Badger verbal, Josh Peprah, wanted to visit other schools before officially choosing where he would attend school in 2009.

An article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quoted Peprah's brother and current Green Bay Packer, Charlie, as saying Josh "has already given an unofficial commitment," prior to his official visit on Dec. 12, and that "he will then visit some other schools before officially choosing a school."

After his trip to Madison with 10 other current verbals, however, it appears the Plano (Tex.) East star is now an official Badger commit.

"I was planning on taking some other visits, but I'm not sure I'm going to be doing that now," said Peprah, whose high school team finished 1-9 this past season. "Right now, I'm 100 percent with Wisconsin and I don't think I need to visit anywhere else."

Peprah, one of just two defensive backs currently on board in Wisconsin current class, was hosted by a pair of Texas natives, Jay Valai and Devin Smith.

"They were great hosts and we could talk about making the move from Texas to Wisconsin," said Peprah, a 6-foot, 195-pound prospect. "It was pretty fun to see all the recruits because you hear and read about them on and stuff.

"It was just cool to meet a lot of those guys in person and hang out with them for the weekend."

Peprah and Cedar Hill's Darious Thomas, who gave his commitment to UW on Dec. 6, are expected to join a stable of Texas natives that currently includes Valai, Smith, Marcus Cromartie, Mario Goins, Shelton Johnson, Elijah Theus and Maurice Moore.

Wisconsin currently has 18 verbals in a class that could have two or three remaining scholarships before Signing Day in February.
