Robinson takes his official

One of the early commitments for the Beavers this year was linebacker Rueben Robinson from Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton. Although Robinson didn't generate a huge buzz from the recruiting services, he had an outstanding senior season, helping lead the Huskies to a 17-10 victory over rival Brophy Prep for the 5A-I state championship.

After tallying 122 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, and 4 fumble recoveries on the season, Robinson was named to the first team All-Region team and the first team All-State team by the Arizona Coaches Association. One week after winning the state championship, Hamilton's defensive captain was on a plane to check out Oregon State on his official visit.

"My visit went good, great actually," said Robinson when BeaverBlitz caught up with him on his way home from Corvallis. "It was a good time to meet all of the players and just hang out and relax. They kept us pretty busy and it seemed like we were eating every four hours," Robinson joked.

Robinson was hosted by fellow Arizonan Keaton Kristick, and also spent some time getting to know fellow recruit Dax Dilbeck while the two were delayed getting out of Corvallis due to the snow storm.
