Sermons taking some trips

Four-star cornerback Brandon Sermons from Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch gave a verbal commitment to UCLA back in October.

However, as the final weeks of the 2009 recruiting season wind down, two additional schools are still after his Letter of Intent signature, and he will be visiting both in the next couple weeks.

As far as UCLA goes though, he is still committed to the Bruins.

"Very much so," responded Sermons when questioned whether he is still a UCLA commit. "The UCLA coaches know I am going on these trips."

But the allure of other programs has piqued his interest.

"I just want to see what they (Oregon State and Washington) have to offer," said Sermons. "I want to be able to come into an up and coming school and program."

Sermons, who played safety, cornerback, receiver and running back for Diamond Ranch, said all three schools are looking at him to play safety in college.

First up is a trip to Corvallis and Oregon State on Jan 16th. That will be followed by a trip to Seattle and the University of Washington on Jan 30th.
