Getz scheduled to visit Iowa

Last year, the Hawkeyes went into Illinois and found a tight end in Brad Herman, who played as a true freshman in 2008. This year, the Iowa coaching staff is back and may have found another one in Meridian High School's Dakota Getz, who will visit Iowa City this weekend.

Currently, Getz is verbally committed to Western Illinois. Iowa has not offered a scholarship at this point, but will likely discuss things further on the official visit. For Getz, it will be his first trip to Iowa City.

Like Iowa, Western Illinois projects Getz primarily at tight end. In high school, the 6-foot-4, 210-pounder was an all-state performer at quarterback this past season, throwing for 2,214 yards and 22 touchdowns and adding another 1,667 yards and 25 touchdowns on the ground as well.
