Coach speaks highly of Johnson

Last season, Elijah Johnson led Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas, NV., all the way to the state championship game, but eventually feel to Reno High School. This time around, Johnson, the 6-foot-2, 183-pound point guard hopes the Desert Shields are the last team standing at the end of the season. The No. 27 ranked player in the class of 2009, certainly has Cheyenne headed in the right direction.

Last season, Cheyenne High School advanced all-the-way to the state championship game. However, the Desert Shields, who finished the season with an overall record of 19-8, lost to Reno High School, 76-72. It was a devastating loss to the entire program, particularly to elite point guard Elijah Johnson.
