Bamfo lists Rams in top two

Rockwall (TX) Heath outside linebacker George Bamfo received five offers last week from Colorado State, Houston, North Texas, San Diego State and Indiana. When the 5-foot-11, 200 pound Heath Hawk
was bombarded by scholarship offers, he quickly had to put a game plan together on which schools to visit.

"They all came in at such short notice I had time for only limited visits," said Bamfo Sunday evening. "I took a visit this past week to North Texas, which was my first official and I'm going to take visits to Houston and Colorado State this week."

Bamfo plans on spending Wednesday and Thursday at the University of Houston before flying to Colorado State on Friday.

During his senior season at Heath High School, Bamfo collected 131 tackles and two sacks as he helped his team make it to the Class 4A state championship game where they lost to Sulphur Springs. The only player for Heath to collect more tackles this season was 4-star linebacker Austin Moss, who has committed to Arkansas.

Bamfo has admitted that staying close to home would be nice, but it's not a necessity.

"If I could (stay close to home) it would be good, but if the better place isn't closer to home, then I gotta do what I gotta do."

He currently lists his top two schools as Colorado State and Houston and would like to make his decision before signing day; therefore, these upcoming visits are crucial to both the Rams and the Cougars. Bamfo really wants to make a decision by next week

"I'm just looking for a place that I can fit in, ya know? Where I can get along with the players and the coaches and a good place that I can spend the next four years of my life."

Bamfo says he's not real familiar with the Colorado State program, but credits the Rams cornerbacks coach Tim Duffie with drawing his interest.

"Basically it's just Coach Duffie. I don't really know a lot about the Colorado State program, he's the only person I know and he's real neat guy. Coach Duffie is the only reason that I'm drawn to the Colorado State program right now."

Bamfo has agreed to let GoldandGreenNews.com know when he makes his decision, most likely next week. Stay tuned!
