Bessemer Academy duo enjoy MSU visit
Bessemer Academy standouts Harris Gaston and Jeremy Cox are no strangers to the Mississippi State campus.
The duo have been to a number of camps on the Starkville campus due to their high school coach Josh Wright's connection with his brother Jody, who is entering his fourth season on the MSU coaching staff.
Both Gaston and Cox returned this weekend for their final visit before signing day on Wednesday.
"It had a good visit," Gaston said. "We just visited the campus, visited the facilities and of course ate. We met with the coaching staff and some of the players."
Gaston, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound three-star linebacker, met Bulldog head coach Dan Mullen for the first time on Thursday afternoon on an in-home visit and got a chance to build a closer connection over the weekend.
"I got a chance to talk to Coach Mullen," Gaston said. "He was talking about himself really. That was my second time meeting him in two or three days. He was telling me about his personal background and he wanted to know a little bit about me. We just got into a nice conversation."
Gaston stated that one of his favorite parts of the trip was attending the Ole Miss-Mississippi State game on Saturday.
