Spain Park DL with three offers
The class of 2008 saw Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park as home to one of the top defensive linemen in the nation in William Green. Two years later, college recruiters are flocking to Spain Park once again for a defensive line prospect, this time defensive tackle Jeremiah Jackson.
Most recently, Jackson received an offer from Vanderbilt to add to his list that includes Arkansas and Duke.
"That one came in last Wednesday," Jackson said of Vanderbilt. "I saw them last year. I think they have a great program. I saw them last year when they started 5-0 and beat Auburn and started out 18th in the country. I'm excited for the opportunity. I'm interested in any school that's interested in me."
Among the other schools that have been showing Jackson interest have been Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Colorado, UAB and others.
Though Jackson's recruiting process is just now getting started, there are a couple things that he will be keeping in mind when it comes to his decision.
"Mostly I'll just go wherever God tells me to go and then how comfortable I am with the coaching staff, the educational opportunity and the football program."
Already, Jackson has attended one junior day at Alabama. He enjoyed it but is not ready to name anybody as a favorite or even tip his hand as to who he routed for growing up. These days, he doesn't have time to follow anybody. His offseason workout is keeping him plenty busy.
"We have 5:30 workouts in the mornings, speed training at 7th period, then RPM, our speed and conditioning after school," he said. "I get home, do my homework and then I'm about beat. I'm trying to get better at everything. I'm not satisfied in any area of my play and I'm trying to get better."
With that attitude, Jackson's offer list should continue to grow.
