Griffin coming to Starkville this weekend

Perry Central (Miss.) running back Nick Griffin already has one offer from an in-state school and hopes to pick up another one this weekend.

The 6-foot-0, 197-pounder will visit Mississippi State for it's junior day this weekend and hopes to make an impression on the new coaching staff.

"I'm getting prepared to come to junior day right now," Griffin said. "I really don't know what to expect because I haven't even been to a junior day before. I really don't know what it's going to be like. I'm just planning on coming up there and impressing the coaches. I really haven't heard too much about Coach (Dan) Mullen or his offense but I plan to when I come up there."

Starkville is currently the only junior day that Griffin has on his agenda. He has an early offer from Southern Miss but is hearing from several other schools as well.

"Recruiting has been going pretty good," Griffin said. "I've got a couple of schools looking at me right now. Southern Miss is the only one that has offered me right now but hopefully I am going to get some more. Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Nebraska and Alabama are sending me letters."

Griffin stated that the interest from the Bulldogs does not appear to be as it once was. He said his correspondence with the coaches has slacked off in the past few weeks.
