Sooners Offer Another Texas Linebacker

While watching former Sooner commitment Darius Jones it's safe to say the Sooner coaching staff would have liked a longer look at Aaron Franklin, the Marshall, Texas standout was among the state's top sophomore linebackers but lost most of his junior year to a knee injury. So it speaks to his talents when Franklin already held six offers before picking up his latest one earlier this week.

"I had a conference call with Josh Heupel and Brent Venables, they saw enough of my sophomore highlight film and (Oklahoma) decided to offer me," Franklin said. "It was my first time to talk to coach Venables, he told me to start calling him, it was my first time talking to him. He seemed like a good person and a good coach.

Franklin hasn't played any football since his injury but says that he is getting back his confidence in his knee by starring both in baseball and track for the Mavericks.
