Cobb thinking about camps

Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep junior linebacker Ryan Cobb has an early offer from Harvard and that assures him that he will have the opportunity to get an excellent education while playing college football if that's the route he chooses to take. Cobb is hoping for offers from several of the FBS schools he has been hearing from, however, including Boston College.

Don Bosco has sent plenty of prospects to Boston College over the years and the existence of that pipeline is common knowledge.

The 6-foot, 216-pound linebacker took trips to Boston College and Harvard earlier in the recruiting process.

"Those were the last things I did," Cobb said in an interview with EagleAction.com. "That was about three weeks ago.

"Boston College actually went really well. It was a junior day and there were a bunch of other kids from my school that were up there.

"A lot of kids from Don Bosco go to Boston College, obviously, so the atmosphere feels a lot like home. Just being there and seeing the stadium was great. I love how (the stadium) is located right on campus and how everything is real accessible."

Cobb has also been in touch with several other schools.

"A few other schools said they want me to go out to their spring practices and summer camps. Florida was one of them and Iowa was another. Same thing with North Carolina, Michigan, Michigan State and UCLA. I think I'm gonna go out to Oregon, too."

For now Cobb is working hard to make sure he is prepared for those camps. He's heavily involved in lifting and he does just about everything for his track squad at Don Bosco.

"My whole team and I are working out the weight room and I'm also running spring track," he explained. "I'm running the 100, 200 and 400, and I'm also doing the shotput, the discus, the javelin and the long jump."
