Kisseberth up to three offers

One prospect from the talent rich state of Texas that is starting to make a name for himself is Klein linebacker Kevin Kisseberth. The 6-foot-3, 213-pounder put on a show at the Houston National Underclassman Combine and that performance has resulted in increased interest from several schools.

Since his last interview over two weeks ago, Kisserberth has received two official offers while hearing from several others.

"SMU and Tulane offered me," he said. "I think Rice is going to maybe, I have to go to their practice."

Kisseberth has made stops to Houston, Texas, LSU, Rice and most recently to TCU to catch the Frogs go through spring practices and came away impressed.

"I talked to all their coaches and walked around the campus," he said. "It was pretty cool. I talked to Coach Patterson after practice, he said he was come down here with one of his recruiters and watch spring practice.

"I like TCU a lot, I mean they've been winning a lot in the past. I think they're going to probably make it to a BCS game next year. I like the stadium a lot and all the facilities are nice brand new, like that 25 million dollar athletic center, that was really nice."

Although the Frogs made an impression on Kisseberth, the talented athlete isn't ready to name a favorite just yet but hopes to narrow things down soon.

"I'm pretty open right now," he said. "I'll probably narrow down in the summer. I really don't care about location. I do care about the academics and how good the football program is and if it has a lot of supporters. I'm thinking about making a decision in August."

Kisseberth has been on the Klein varsity since his sophomore season and earned district and state honors as a tight end and defensive in in 2008. On defense, he totaled 40 solo tackles and 3 sacks and caught 8 passes for 120 yards and a score on offense.

The schools showing interest are looking at him for both sides of the ball.

"Tulane said they want me as a tight end, SMU wants me as a linebacker, Northwestern wants me as a linebacker. I think Rice wants me as a linebacker or defensive end. TCU, I think they're looking at me as a tight end."

Note: Kisseberth received a written offer from Rice Tuesday afternoon.
