Time not moving fast enough for Thornton

It's been no secret that Duke has struggled to defend quick and shifty guards over the last couple of seasons. It was evident yet again in 2008-09, as the likes of Ty Lawson and Scottie Reynolds, among others, generally had their way against the Blue Devils' guards.

Finding a solution to this problem has been paramount for the Blue Devils coaching staff - thus the aggressive pursuit of the nation's No. 1 rated player in the 2009 class, John Wall. While the Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God Christian Academy standout would be the immediate answer to the issue, the likelihood of him sticking around Durham for more than one season would be slim to none should Duke even be lucky enough to land the talented guard.
