Ruff still has State as his early leader
With another strong showing at the Nike Combine this past weekend in Atlanta, Itawamba AHS safety Asian Ruff's stock is on the rise.
Ruff was named one of the Top 25 prospects at the combine and has already picked up another offer this week. But even with the recent attention the 6-foot-3, 173-pounder still has Mississippi State at the top of his list.
"(Mississippi State) is still number one to me because they were the first school to offer," Ruff said. "I like the coaches down there. The guy that is recruiting me, coach David Turner, is a good guy. I talk to him just about every day."
Ruff is hearing from several area schools other than the Bulldogs. Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Alabama and Georgia Tech have also been talking to the Fulton, Miss., standout.
On Tuesday, Ruff received his second scholarship offer from the Golden Eagles.
"It was a surprise to me," Ruff said. "(Tuesday) while I was at school I got an offer from Southern Miss."
Ruff attended junior day at Ole Miss in late January and has plans to take a visit to MSU's junior day and spring game on April 18.
