Muncie gets inside look into A&M program
When Klein Oak junior linebacker Luke Muncie visited Texas A&M for the first time in July of 2008 for a junior day, he spent most of his time with A&M safeties coach Van Malone. After all, Muncie started at the position as a sophomore and he rang up 67 tackles, two sacks and one interception in being named Second-Team All-District. He started last year in the secondary as well and had another fine season with 78 tackles and four intereptions in grabbing First-Team All-District honors.
There was only one problem - Muncie kept growing. He played last season at 210 pounds and actually functioned as a hybrid safety/outside linebacker in Klein Oak's 3-4 defense. Now, in the spring prior to his senior season, Muncie is up to 220 pounds and looks to get into a different role than what he has been used to.
Muncie has scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Arkansas, Houston, Kansas, Michigan, Northwestern, Oklahoma State and Utah. He is also gaining significant interest from Oklahoma, LSU and Nebraska.
