Thompson Fulfills Two Roles
For Pflugerville, Texas offensive tackle Tyrus Thompson the biggest decision, the one in which he chose to commit to Oklahoma, but when he came to Norman last Saturday he had to decide how much time was to be devoted to himself and what time he had to help the Sooner recruiting effort.
The 6-foot-6, 278-pound lineman is one of the most loquacious members of Oklahoma's seven-man class of 2010 and found time to show his family more of Norman as well as talking to several of Oklahoma's top uncommitted targets.
"I was doing a mixture of both, I'm meeting people and getting to know guys and making friends and stuff," Thompson said. "I was talking to some guys that I know, like Nehemiah Hicks. I know he is kind of liking them right now but I'm never going to add pressure to anyone. It's not the most comfortable feeling in the world."
