Stephenson looking around

A true cover corner who hits like a safety, that's Tyler Stephenson of Lancaster, Texas. With Oregon losing two Jairus Byrd and number 15 Patrick Chung to the NFL this year and Walter Thurmond III pointed that direction next year, they're trying to bring in another number 15 with that kind of talent.

Stephenson's one of those rare players with sprinter's speed at corner who tackles fearlessly. As a junior last year he recorded 55 tackles, had 14 pass breakups and two interceptions. And that while most teams were throwing away from him. He covers like a true cover corner and if you watch his film you see he hits like a safety. Like Patrick Chung or current Oregon safety TJ Ward on a lot of plays.

About Oregon the four-star rated player said, 'It's a great program. I watched them last year in the bowl game against Oklahoma State. And their track program is great too. Wherever I go I know I want to run track too so that'll be important in how I make my decision."

He's being recruited by Coach Neal and Stephenson said that will be part of how he evaluates where he goes as well. "I'm going to look at a few things. The academics, and the defensive coaches and also the position coaches. The other thing is track. Track will play a big role because anywhere I go I want to have the opportunity to run track because it's something I love to do also."
