Hattiesburg RB getting early looks
Hattiesburg (Miss.) running back Marcquese Hosey already has one offer from an in-state school but could be on his way to adding more.
The 5-foot-7, 175-pounder with 4.5 speed has an offer on the table from Alcorn State but interest is starting to pick-up especially after a pair of Southeastern Conference schools dropped by last week.
"Recruiting has been going good lately," Hosey said. "This is around the time period when they can start calling you and all that. I got in touch with Alcorn State and Arkansas State (on Monday) and LSU stopped by last week sometime."
Another SEC program that came down to the 5A powerhouse was Mississippi State offensive coordinator Les Koenning. While Tony Hughes usually recruits the Hattiesburg area after previously coaching at Southern Miss, Koenning was there to get a firsthand look at quarterback Tevin Chapman on Thursday.
"I talked to Coach Koenning when he came down to look at our quarterback Tevin Chapman," Hosey said. "He told me that I look impressive to him with the way that I ran. He said he was going to bring Coach Hughes back down here to look at me and get to know me better."
