They make them fast in Pahokee
PAHOKEE, Fla.--Head coach Blaze Thompson said his small school lacks the numbers of some of the 6A powers of this state, so he and his Blue Devils do it another way.
Monday, the first day Florida schoolboys were allowed football drills, Thompson and his staff sent Pahokee through three hours of drills under a bright Florida sun with only scant stops for water breaks, administered by 60-year-old strength and conditioning coach Jerrill Wayne.
"Ah, it's springtime here," he said, "just about two degrees more than normal."
