Williams getting attention from big schools
Forward Donte Williams has been getting a lot of attention from major colleges and the recruiting process has been heating up just like the weather. The six-foot-nine 205-pound forward from Miller Grove High School in Lithonia will be spending a lot of time talking to coaches.
Williams had a great junior year at Miller Grove where he teamed up with future Georgia Tech point guard Mfon Udofia to win a state title. He also played with future Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill, who is a freakish athlete not only on the football field, but also on the basketball court as well.
With the skill level to be a high level D-1 prospect, Donte breaks down his game and his summer plans.
"My midrange game and blocking shots is my best part of my game right now and I think I need to work on handle and putting it on the floor more. My defense on the perimeter also needs some work."
"For this summer, I'm probably going to the Reebok U camp this summer along with the Pangos All-American camp and that's about it."
Schools like Georgia State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Auburn, FSU, Clemson, and Xavier are giving him attention. What offers does this big man hold now?
"I've got Georgia State that has offered right now and about ten other schools on the edge of offering. I really don't have any favorites right now and I'm open to just about anybody."
Georgia and Georgia Tech seem to be heating up to the idea of offering this big man in the future. He breaks down what he likes about each one right here.
Georgia Tech: They are a good school and they play in the ACC, which has good competition every single game. They were my favorite school growing up and I always watch them on TV.
Georgia: I talked to the Georgia coach about a week ago and he seemed like a good coach, I want to learn more about them.
