Spring Tour: American Heritage - Delray Beach
Tuesday afternoon our spring tour stopped by American Heritage High School in Delray Beach. They are coming off a 9-4 season where they made it to the State Semifinals. Here is a look at their top prospects in 2010.
James Potts - Running back - 5 foot 11, 175-pounds
Potts is one of the top running back in Florida and currently has offers from Vanderbilt, Rutgers, FIU, and Memphis. Potts was being held out of practice due to a minor injury, but planned on being back in action this weekend. As more schools seem this spring expect his offer list to grow.
Darius Milines - Athlete - 6 foot 1, 180-pounds
Milines does a little bit of everything, lining up at quarterback, wide receiver and safety. His body already looks like it has been in a college weight program.
Darrick Johnson - Linebacker - 5 foot 11, 190-pounds
Johnson is the leader of the defense and the teams top returning tackler. He will get tested in the spring game against the rushing attack of Dwyer.
A couple of underclassmen will be major contributors this fall.
Quarterback Billy Strode a 2011 prospect splits time with Milines. Last fall the left hander threw for 1,335 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also ran for another 304 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Class of 2013 prospect Greg Bryant led the team in receiving yards last fall as an eighth grader. He had 27 receptions for 346 yards. He was working out at running back and wide receiver during practice. Bryant is definitely a name to remember.
American Heritage will take on Dwyer in their spring game on May 21st.
