2009 MSU signee makes the grade

Once the ink dried on his letter of intent to Mississippi State back in February, three-star wide receiver Ricco Sanders began working hard to ensure he would be eligible to play next season.

Now with his senior year complete, Sanders is happy to report that there will be no concerns regarding his academic status in the fall. In fact, his grades came out even better than he originally thought.

"They came out good," Sanders said. "They came out better than I thought they were. I ended up doing good so there is no worry."

With the Bulldogs needing immediate depth at wide receiver, getting Sanders on campus is a huge boost to the receiving corps. He is hoping to make an impact this season as a freshman.

"I've been thinking about (early playing time)," Sanders said. "But it's just a matter of time and my work ethic. I'm just going to go ahead and work and do my best."

Sanders is planning on making the move from his home in Duncan, S.C. to Starkville in either late June or early July to get a headstart on things before camp begins in August.
