Johnson sees recruitment soar
Last weekend, Long Beach, CA was the place to be for basketball fans hoping to see some of the best prospects in the country as the Pangos All-American Camp kicked off. One prospect that has drawn the attention of Oregon State coaches is James Johnson from San Diego (Calif.) Samuel F.B. Morse.
At 6-foot-9, 220 pounds, Johnson stands out in a crowd, but on the basketball court he shines. If you aren't familiar with Johnson, you soon will be.
A job opportunity for James' father Ted, necessitated a move to Canada ten years ago, and while James tore up the competition and played with some of the best in Canada, it is now that he is back in the States that he is picking up major recruiting attention. His performance at Pangos is just spurring things along even more.
Rivals.com was on hand in Long Beach and recruiting expert, Jerry Meyer had this to say about Johnson's performance, which earned him the distinction of one of the Pangos 2010 Stock Risers.
